In this article you will find all the details, news, player stats, venues, amazing facts and schedule related to IPL 2020.

IPL 2020 – Synopsis:

The long wait is finally over, as the worlds largest and the toughest T20 league is about to start and everyone around India are extremely excited as they get to support their favorite teams once again for the 13th time. A new year brings new hopes, new expectations and new enthusiasm as such is the anticipation to all the fans out there. The BCCI has officially announced the dates for the league to be played in the United Arab Emirates and is also ensuring proper safety measures for the players all around the globe.

IPL this year has larger expectations than any of the years before as they get to watch some of the famous encounters such as the CSK VS MI, RCB VS KKR, CSK VS RCB at the start of the tournament itself. The BCCI had also requested the ICC Board to postpone the T20 World Cup which was scheduled from the mid of October. So this year we expect some fireworks from all the 8 teams and hoping for a thriller season to all.

Venues:

The IPL 2020 will be held in 3 different stadiums in UAE:

1) Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai

2) Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah

3) Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi

Pitch Conditions In UAE:

The conditions here in UAE are very harsh and the weather too not matching the expected cricketing conditions. It is really going to be tough for all the teams leaving their home game advantage and playing at such challenging conditions. The pitch here supports bowling and doesn’t let the ball to come on the bat that easily. There were very less 200+ totals made here at the UAE.

Teams like CSK, RCB and KKR having the highest 200+ totals definitely has to find ways to increase the scoreboards. This could be a low-scoring IPL, but as the final last year showed, that’s not necessarily a bad thing if it allows an even contest. With the heat, you may see low scoring games in the latter half of the IPL. And if the nature of the wicket is slow, it’s very difficult to make it faster or flatter. Moreover, it will be a fair contest as the conditions remain the same to all the teams.

Sponsorship Controversy:

The 2020 VIVO IPL faced heavy criticism for retaining Chinese sponsors for the 2020 IPL even amidst calls for boycotting Chinese goods while the 2020 China-India skirmerish were still going on. Omar Abdullah and Randeep Singh both criticized the BCCI/IPL governing council’s decision to retain the Chinese sponsors. Swadeshi Jagran Manch, an affiliate of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said that the 2020 VIVO IPL should not feature the Chinese company VIVO. Now the BCCI too has considered their suggestions and is looking for new sponsors only for this year and resume the sponsorship with VIVO from 2021. Probable competitors for IPL 2020 sponsorship are Byjus, Paytm and Coca Cola.
