The women’s World Cup is supposed to happen last year but due to the sharp rise in covid cases, it has been rescheduled. So there were a lot of rumors that it might again have some delay in the start due to the spread of Omicron but recently tournament CEO Andrea Nelson has made it clear that there will not be any changes in the schedule. She also stated that it has already been a lot late and strictly all precautions will be taken for all the staff and players so the tournament will start as expected without any more additional delay as already the plan is pretty well scheduled as it is worked for many months. The whole schedule will be played in New Zealand from March 4th to April 3rd and will take place in six venues.
CEO Andrea Nelson also added these lines in a conference “We did look at multiple contingency plans over the last 12 months as you can well imagine. But the plan is to retain the schedule as it is with the six venues. Also, he added that the first team is on the ground already. The next team arrives next week. Plans have been well advanced. So no chance of postponement as of now. The listed six venues are as follows Mount Maunganui, Dunedin, Wellington, Auckland, Hamilton, and Christchurch so it is an important point all the players will be thrilled to showcase their talents and prove their skills as this can be a career-changing moment for all the players. Also, this is going to be an eight-team tournament.
