Early Life:

MS Dhoni was born on July 7, 1981, in Ranchi, Bihar (present-day Jharkhand) in a Hindu Rajput family to Pan Singh and Devki Devi. His paternal village is in the Lamgara block in Almora, Uttarakhand. His father, Pan Singh, moved from Uttarakhand to Ranchi and worked in junior management positions in MECON. Dhoni has a sister and a brother– Jayanti Gupta (sister) and Narendra Singh Dhoni (Brother). Dhoni did his schooling from DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Ranchi, Jharkhand and excelled in multiple sports such as badminton, football and cricket. He played as a goalkeeper for his football team and played cricket for a local club. Dhoni showed impressive wicket-keeping skills at the Commando Cricket Club during 1995-98 and was picked up for Vinoo Mankad Trophy Under-16 Championship for 1997-98 session and played well. After completing his High School, Dhoni focussed on Cricket. During 2001-2003, Dhoni was a TTE (Travelling Ticket Examiner) at Kharagpur Railway Station, under South Eastern Railway in West Bengal.

Cricket Entry:

Entry into the cricketing field was indeed a tough job for Dhoni as there were a lot of politics involved and talents were not given attention. At such a situation is where our all time capital Mahi arrives. At the beginning stages of his career, he indeed played master strokes and also was one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen in his district. On one of his selections is when he gets to meet Yuvraj Singh, whom he played against with. Yuvraj too was a true warrior. Fortunately or unfortunately Mahi was not selected even after a class display and master mind. This is when he goes for the job of a ticket collector.

TITLES:

Looking at the titles and trophys won by Dhoni, one day is not enough to count. As such is the collection of trophies and medals. Although Mahi has won many tournaments, we showcase the titles won by him in extremely major tournaments. On the number 1 spot we have the ICC World Cup, 2011 which was won by the captain himself helping his team in the finals. On the second we have Dhoni winning the 2007 World T20 cup and at the last at number 3 we have our MS Winning the ICC Champions Trophy.

Mahi Bike Collections:

Our captain has a crazy interest in purchasing all latest and imported bikes to his garage. The Captain owns one of the finest bikes in the world. He infact has a showroom filled with imported bikes whose value can be estimated crores. But Dhoni still uses his very first scooter that he used to drive before his cricketing career. Approximately his bike collection crosses the 100 mark.

2011 World Cup Winning Moment:

This was an historical moment in world cricket and for the Indian team, as they got to lift the ICC World Cup after 28 years under Dhonis Captaincy. This was a true bliss moment for all Indians and an unbelievable occasion in everyone’s hearts. The final against Sri Lanka was so thrilling and power packed, wherein the captain MS himself had to rescue his team for a win. It was 11 balls remaining and 4 required. Dhoni launches it into the sky off Kulasekara and finishes it off in style. That’s it “India lift the World Cup after 28 years”. Wankhede goes crazy.

Journey with CSK:

It has been an incredible journey to MS with CSK. He was bagged by CSK for a massive 15cr. He is also the most successful captain as CSK lifted the most number of trophies and also winning the most number of games led by Mahi. MS is the only captain in IPL who remains the same captain from the begginig of IPL in 2008 upto 2020. It will be very hurting for all CSK fans and the cricket fans as Dhoni might retire from IPL as well in the following years. Mahi Unofficial Umpire:

Nowadays when it comes to umpiring, no umpire is perfect. There are a lot of mistakes made while umpiring especially no-balls. But then there is only one umpire who is perfect with his umpiring skills. Yes you heard that right, it’s none other than our Thala Dhoni. Not only wicket keeping, neither batting nor bowling, our captain is a very well experienced umpire too. The 3rd Umpire himself find it difficult to judge, MS easily judges each and every action of the Bowling and the batsmen by staying behind the stumps. Hence he is also the unofficial umpire playing for a team.

Helicopter Shot – Founder:

The era of helicopter shots first began with Dhoni. It was a unique style of hitting the ball, tapping it twice before launching it into skies. Most of the helicopter shots hit by Dhoni were launched out of the stadiums, as it used to be a powerful shot. Being the master of the helicopter shots, he has also been an inspiration to many others who also try to imitate all his actions and try to over come their stepping stones in their career.

Mahi Retirement:

As everything has an end, it’s really an emotional moment to all cricket fans. The captain cool chooses 7:29 PM as the time of his retirement on 15th August, 2020. As this was also the time when Dhoni was out in the 2019 World Cup against New Zealand, wherein India were knocked out of the tournament. It is indeed not acceptable to lose one of the finest player and a cool hearted person. The happy thing is that he will play out the IPL for maximum 1 or 2 years more, which gives us something to cheer up.
