Young star on London Minds.

Both London clubs in heavy pursuit of Sevilla’s Centre forward.

Youssef En-Nesyri has slowly but surely made his way into mainstream football news with his brilliant performance for Sevilla in the Spanish league. En-Nesyri, 24, has been sensational for Julian Lopetegui’s side over the past couple of seasons. Joining initially in 2019-20, he starred last term.

The Moroccan international netted a whopping 24 goals in all competitions – including a brace against Dortmund in the last 16 of the Champions League. In any young player a much-needed quality is showing up in big matches, and Youssef has been doing just that.

The young buck has slightly transformed his game this season and has three goals and two assists in seven games. In January, West Ham offered Sevilla a deal worth 22.5 million pounds but much to the hammers dismay, the deal was tabled. Now, he is being looked at by both Tottenham and Arsenal – as well as Brighton – with Sevilla considering Blackburn’s Ben Brereton Diaz.

En-Nesyri plays like a traditional no.9. A proper, physical centre forward who has an eye for goal. As it stands Tottenham’s lead striker Harry Kane is unsure about his future. In the past few seasons Heung-Min Son has shown that he is a player they can rely on and has scored some breath-taking strikes for the London side. Tottenham are looking for another reliable striker who they can groom for the longer run. With hopefully Delle Alli returning to his old form, if Tottenham bag En-Nesyri we will be looking at a very strong squad which is ready for any challenge.

For the past 5-6 season Arsenal’s problems have only risen in volume. The team has failed to find the right manager after Arsene Wenger left them following the 2017/18 season. They have yet to find answers to so many questions which have gone unanswered since so long. Lacklustre performances are now a trend for the gunners, the strikers hardly score, the midfield doesn’t take back possession and pass and the defence fails to stop well built attacks.

En-Nesyri can be the missing ingredient which can help the gunners fire true and stop misfiring. His attack style is different than Aubameyang and some variation in the attack power could prove to be vital for Arsenal. With the Moroccan international getting so much attention from important clubs his rate could go even higher and a bidding war could ensue.

As it looks wherever he decides to go, he will be making a big impact on the squad, with Arsenal looking for retribution and Tottenham for recognition this season is going to be an interesting one.
