Virat Kohli was welcomed to Mohali by the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) on Saturday in preparation for the first Twenty20 International match against Australia on September 20.
Three T20I matches will pit the reigning T20 World Cup champions against India, the top-ranked T20I team. Hyderabad and Vidarbha will host the second and third games, respectively.
Kohli had a fantastic Asia Cup, despite India being eliminated early. With 276 runs from five games, an average of 92, and a strike rate of just under 148, he was the second-highest run scorer.
The recent game against Afghanistan marked the RCB batsman’s first T20I century and his 71st overall in international cricket.
Here is the video of Kohli leaving the airport while being followed by police and security personnel:
In 19 T20I matches against Australia, Kohli has scored 718 runs at an average of 59.83 and a strike rate of 146.23, which ranks second among all opponents. Additionally, the 33-year-old has seven fifty-scores against Australians.
Sunil Narine, a West Indies spinner, Friday expressed his support for the Indian batter. Narine asserted that players with the skills of Virat Kohli draw criticism and predicted that the former India captain would soon return to form.
In a video posted on journalist Vimal Kumar’s YouTube account, he stated:
“It’s all a part of the game, criticism. People will attempt to make sense of it for a player like him (Kohli) who has been performing so brilliantly for a while (poor form). He is a talented athlete. He is among the finest in the world, and he will improve.”
