Coming to chase, Sri Lanka chased down the target in the final over of the match. Minod Bhanuka and Dhananjaya de Silva scored 36 runs and 40 runs respectively for the Sri Lankan team. Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets but the runs proved to be too less to defend for the Indian bowlers.
Dhananjaya de Silva was adjudged the man of the match for his match-winning knock (unbeaten 40 runs off 34 balls, 4s – 1, 6s – 1).
The 3-match series stands at 1-1 currently and that sets the decider to be an exciting contest with the series at stake. Considering India will once again be without their main players, Sri Lanka would be fairly salivating at the prospect of a series win.
Nevertheless India took the low scoring game till the last over with their exemplary bowling performance and would be hoping to push themselves a little more hard into the final game.
