It is almost certain that we have already seen David Warner play his last game in Orange colours. However, the impact that Warner has had with the Sunrisers over the last 7 years has been unmatched by any other batsman in the last IPL. But now is the time to look ahead for the Orange Army. Here are 3 batters who can replace Warner at SRH from the next IPL season.
David Warner Replacement for IPL 2022
- Evin Lewis. RR opener Evin Lewis has done more good than harm to his reputation as a big-hitter during the UAE leg of IPL 2021.It is almost certain that he will command a decent price of the auction if he’s not retained by his current franchise.If SRH buy him, he can turn out to be a smart buy for them. And a good replacement for Warner!
- Quinton de Kock. Although de Kock has been exceptional for MI and will most likely be either retained or bought back in the auction by them, SRH can go for him.It is an absolute like-for-like replacement– a proven overseas left-handed opener who can bludgeon bowling attacks on his day!
- Jos Buttler. If Rajasthan does not retain the English opener, there is a possibility that SRH might grab him. This move will also make more sense if the Orange Army retained Jonny Bairstow.Buttler and Bairstow will be re-united at the top, and only God will have mercy on the bowlers then!
