The India tour of South Africa, 2021-2022 test series has a lot of expectations as India countered their win in their 1st test but later has a defeat in the 2nd test and as their gameplay is not up to the expectations they even lost their 3rd test due to a lot of circumstances. Due to this defect, there are a lot of anger from all the fans at the performance displayed by Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane. The two players have not performed to their standards and let the team down in crucial situations already they got enough chances they didn’t prove their talent up to their expectations. They were been as strong support for the team in batting in previous years of the test but in recent times has made a lot of disappointment getting out on single figures.
While coming down to the batters performance in the 3rd test the figures of Ajinkya Rahane scored a total of 10 runs in both innings on the other hand Cheteshwar Pujara scored a total of 52 runs in both innings. As in a interview with Virat Kohli after post match conference as got asked same question about their performance and will they continue in future matches he replied as “We need to step up with the bat. There is no running away from that. To answer this question, I can’t sit here and talk about what’s going to happen in the future. That’s not for me to sit here and discuss. You have to speak to the selectors to find out what they have in mind, that’s not my job”. But kohli has added the reason they were part of playing XI as that as follows “I said before and I will say again, we have continued to back Cheteshwar and Ajinkya because of the kind of players they are and what they have done in Test cricket over the years. They have done well in crucial situations, you saw that in the 2nd Test as well with that important partnership in the 2nd innings which got us to a total that we could fight for.
