Punjab Kings failed to qualify the playoffs in IPL 2021 despite of coming close to qualification. This season didn’t end well for the team, but there were some brilliant individual performances by the Kings player in the tournament.
Captain KL Rahul displayed incrediblw consistency throughout the season. He performed exceptionally well in every match. The skipper received great support from his opening partner Mayank Agarwal. Both the batsman had performed outstanding games over the last two years.
In the last season, Orange cap winner was Kl Rahul with highest run-scorer of the tournament. This season skipper has scored 626 runs in 13 matches and holding the first position in orange cap winning race. In match, against Chennai Super Kings Rahul smashed 98 runs off 42 balls. This inning helped the batsman to reach at the first position.
Kl Rahul also reached the milestone of 3000 IPL runs in 80 innings. He became the second fastest batter to reach 3000 runs in IPL and the fastest Indian to do so. The skipper played a wonderful innings of 49 runs when he hit the milestone.
There’s chance for Faf du Plessis from Chennai Super Kings to claim the first position. At current his is at second position with 546 runs. CSK has qualified the playoffs and du Plessis has more matches to be played.
