Previously, Harbhajan Singh’s day job involved saving India from trouble across 22 yards, but now that he is a member of parliament, he has the chance to take on a greater responsibility: saving an Indian national in distress who is being held hostage abroad.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha nominee Kamaljeet Kaur, 21, of Bathinda, who was “illegally held and manhandled by her employers,” recently worked with the Indian Embassy in Oman to save her.
In response to a question regarding the event, Harbhajan told PTI, “This wouldn’t have been possible without the assistance of the Indian Embassy in Oman and our Ambassador Mr. Amit Narang. His involvement has been tremendous.”
Regarding my intervention, this Rajya Sabha seat is intended to assist those who are in need.
Father Sikandar Singh and daughter Kamaljeet spoke with PTI about their week-long struggle after Kamaljeet had returned to Barkandi village in Bathinda. Additionally, they talked about how Punjabi travel and employment agencies take advantage of low-income families financially while promising them a brighter future.
When Kamaljeet arrived at the airport, he was supposed to live in with an Indian family, but he was instead assigned to an office.
We are a family of three, and my father works as a daily labourer. I sought a local agent named Jagseer Singh because I was the oldest of three siblings and I wanted to support my father. He promised to find me work as a cook with an Indian family that spoke Hindi in Oman.
