Ajinkya Rahane the former Mumbai Batter after continuing a series of failure figures in his scorecard has expected he would not be a part of the playing XI anymore in the Team India after being removed from the Vice-Captaincy Duties. But due to unfortunate conditions that have appeared and the unavailability of Rohit Sharma has created an opportunity to showcase his talent and retain his position. On Day 1 he stood quite confident with the bat and didn’t lose grip at any points and scored well.
Rahane failed to make a significant contribution in recent matches and Shreyas Iyer scored a hundred on his Test debut and Hanuma Vihari is also showing some excellence with the bat and is expected to grab a chance and move into Team India. Rahane successfully found some tactics and looks like he is on the right line this time waiting till the last minute for the ball to come on the bat so far he scored successfully 40 runs of 80 balls that included 8 fours. Also, he is providing fabulous support to KL Rahul and lead Team India to post a huge target on the scoreboard by the End of Day 1 itself. A disappointing factor is Pujara has gone for a golden duck on the opening ball itself but the rest team kept a good score in their account by end of the Day 1.
In the current situation, a video is getting trending a lot these days showing that Rahane kept on reminding himself during the innings to watch the ball till the last moment. But Rahane seems to be playing the right game at the right time hopefully he makes a much more total and makes Team India prove that their decision of taking him wasn’t a wrong call.
