The Pakistani fast bowler who bowled in the second order dominated India’s top order prior to the advent of Hardik Pandya. Pandya helped India defeat Pakistan by five wickets in the Asia Cup 2022 in Dubai with an unbeaten 33 off 17 balls after taking 3-25 on Sunday with his quick, short-pitched deliveries. The Indian finished the game in style with six overs outside of mid-on after hitting three boundaries in the penultimate over against Haris Rauf.
Nawaz clean bowled Jadeja with the first ball, and then Pandya maintained his composure to clear the fence as India won their opening match by five wickets with seven needed off the final six balls. Following the match, a video posted by seasoned all-rounder Shoaib Malik that shows him playing live with injured Shaheen Afridi went viral on social media.Malik captioned the video- “I think we are missing a guy on the field right now.”
Due to a knee injury sustained during the Test series in Sri Lanka, Shaheen was unable to participate in the six-team competition. In the World T20 last year, which was also played in the United Arab Emirates, he was particularly important in Pakistan’s tumultuous triumph over India. For the current tournament, Mohamed Hasnain has been named as his successor.
