Big names like AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell have shown up and contributed significantly to RCB’s growth in IPL 2021. AB de Villiers is an all-time great in the IPL, and he has always been a pillar of strength for the Red Army. People are awestruck by his multifaceted abilities. De Villiers has a big influence on RCB; when he bowls, RCB usually wins.  AB de Villiers lacked middle-order assistance. In 2020, Virat Kohli had a mediocre season, which made it harder for them.

Maxwell, on the other hand, took charge of his team and has so far been the best spin-hitter in the competition. Maxwell’s contribution has been critical in any game, especially given the match situation he was in. He’s batting in his own style. If there is cherry-picking, the argument “what has he changed?” should be shot down. Since he is one of the strongest middle-order batsmen in T20Is and other leagues, his IPL struggles should be even more shocking.

IPL 2021: Glenn Maxwell’s Performance

Glenn Maxwell has been one of the league’s greatest underachievers. He hasn’t accomplished much since his breakout season in 2014. He hasn’t scored more than 20 in four of the last five seasons. It came as a shock when he went for big money again.

This time, it was RCB who took the gamble, and with batsmen like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers on his side, he would be under less pressure. The decision to purchase him paid off, as he seemed to be in top form, with just one innings in which he scored fewer than 22 runs.

In seven games, he batted with a strike rate of 144.8 and an average of 37.16. The Australian batsman hit two half-centuries and was the team’s leading run-scorer, a big step forward from his previous seasons. He is expected to remain a key member of the RCB as they strive to win their first IPL.

Ab De Villiers’s Performance

AB de Villiers, one of the best overseas players in IPL history, has been a prolific success.  Playing after a five-month layoff is a huge task for any cricketer, but it didn’t seem to bother ABD, who managed to toy with the bowlers in the same manner.

He batted six times, three of which were match-winning innings. RCB lost two of those games when AB scored in a single digit. This demonstrates how important he is to their success.

He averaged 51.75 and struck out 164.28 in seven games, scoring 207 runs. He scored two half-centuries and played an important role behind the stumps, as he was involved in eight dismissals.
