England's Jonny Bairstow has decided to pull out of the upcoming edition of The Hundred to get some rest before the upcoming Tests against South Africa.

Bairstow has been one of the stars of England cricket this year with his exploits in the longest format of the game earning him a lot of plaudits.

The 32-year-old played for the Welsh Fire men's team in the previous edition of The Hundred and revealed on Tuesday

That he wouldn't be part of the upcoming campaign, which will start on 3rd August and go on until 3rd September.

Bairstow said that he is really disappointed not to be a part of the tournament this year.

He went on to say that he has had a few hectic months and really needed a breather before the South Africa Test series.

“I am really disappointed. I won’t be part of the Hundred this year. I loved it last year. I have had a hectic few months with the schedule as it is.” He said.
