On September 19, Team India will play its first of three T20 Internationals against Australia at Mohali, marking the team’s comeback to the game’s shortest format. After a dismal showing at the 2022 Asia Cup, where the team was eliminated in the Super 4 round, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team would be aiming for a solid performance in the series. Even though India didn’t advance to the regional tournament’s championship game, there was one glaring plus for the team: Virat Kohli’s return to run-scoring.
The ace Indian batsman scored 276 runs in five matches at an incredible strike rate of 147.59; he will be looking to build on this recent run-scoring success in the Australia T20 Internationals.
Kohli displayed different signs of his return to form throughout his several innings in the Asia Cup, and it appears the Indian batter has done the same off the field. On Sunday, Kohli was spotted dancing with colleague Hardik Pandya as the two tried to coordinate their moves. While Pandya too decided to take a break from international cricket after the T20 World Cup in 2021, Kohli returned to the Indian team after more than a month away. Pandya used this period to heal from his injuries before making a brilliant comeback in the 2022 Indian Premier League, when he helped Gujarat Titans win the championship.
Pandya made his comeback to the Indian team for both ODIs because to his consistently strong performances.
