Watch what Kohli did when a Pakistan fan stopped by guards

Former India captain Virat Kohli’s gesture towards a Pakistan fan after being stopped by security guards is the video you need to watch today.

Virat Kohli is a superstar… No, make that a superstar. Kohli’s stardom has not only been confirmed in India, but also far beyond its borders. He has fans who are willing to go to great lengths for something as insignificant as a selfie. Don’t go too far back in time. During the India-Sri Lanka Test in Bengaluru, a fan broke through security and ran onto the field to take a picture with Kohli. More recently, during the IPL, a fan dashed towards Kohli at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata before being lifted on his shoulders and escorted out of the ground by a security guard.

Fans have flocked to the ICC Academy ground, where the teams are practising, ahead of the Asia Cup 2022, which begins on Saturday and the blockbuster India vs. Pakistan match on Sunday. India held their first practise session on Wednesday, following which a lovely gesture from Kohli has become the talk of the town. A fan rushed towards Kohli as he was walking back to the team bus. The fan, who claimed to be from Lahore, the birthplace of Babar Azam, was stopped by a couple of security guards who wanted to take a picture with Kohli.

Initially, Kohli kept walking and the security did not allow him to roam anywhere near the former India captain. After the fan screamed at Kohli and told him that he has come all the way from Pakistan only to get a picture clicked with him, Virat took notice, and later came back to get a selfie clicked. The fan, who goes by the name Mohammad Jibran, and who considers Kohli his favourite player later said that it is a moment he will never forget. The video was shared by PakTV on their YouTube channel.
