Tom Moody wants to replace Ravi shastri as team India head coach.

Tom moody is a former Australian International cricketer, who currently directs Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL. He is also the director of Sri Lanka cricket. The 56-year- old has conveyed his desire to coach the Indian team. Tom had applied for the top job in 2017 and 2019 but has never been considered.

Ravi Shastri tenure as India’s head coach is only till ICC T20 World Cup. The 59- year-old has already decided that he won’t be seeking an extension. Therefore, the BCCI is now looking for a new Head coach.

The all-rounder moody was the head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad from 2013 to 2019, At that period of time Hyderabad only won one title in 2016. The team was led by David Warner in the year 2016.

Later, the Sunrisers coach was replaced by the England’s World cup winning coach Trevor Bayliss as Hyderabad coach. But the franchise appointed Tom moody as the director of cricket. Tom has also coached the Sri Lankan team.

According to the report, the decision to step down David Warner as captain of SRH was led by Tom’s aspiration to coach team India as Head coach. Then he was also drop from the playing XI in the last few games.

“It’s believed the Sunrisers’ owners are influential figures in the BCCI, which could explain the decision to leave Warner out for their past half-a-dozen matches and turn to youth.
“Warner, too, has been approached by a number of other IPL franchises, who have been shocked by the run-scoring machine being sidelined.” the report stated.

When they asked Bayliss about Warner, head coach said that the opener was dropped from the playing squad to give youngsters in the side a chance. “We can’t make the final so have made a decision that we want the young players to experience not just the matches but time at the ground, around the set-up, and for this match we made the decision,” Bayliss had said.
