Shane Warne the well-known Former Australian Cricketer revealed a surprising fact that has been given a huge shock for everyone. He shared an incident from his past that he was offered a hefty $276,000 bribe to perform poorly in a match against Pakistan. This incident is said that it took in a match against Australia vs Pakistan in a test at Karachi in 1994. He later recalled the incident that happened on that particular day and said in his conversation with Salim Malik that Salim said to him they need to talk and left later than Warner went to meet him at his room and knocked on the door, Saleem Malik answers the door. I sit down, and he goes, ‘Good match we’ve got going. I went, ‘Yep, I think we should win tomorrow though’.”
Salim said that they can’t afford to lose the match saying that they have a completely different situation in Pakistan if they won’t win. He added our houses will get burnt down, out family’s houses will get burnt down. So he offered him and his teammate Tim May a bribe to bowl wide of the stumps and try not taking any wicket at all. Then Warner said that he was completely shocked and couldn’t understand anything for a moment and later rejected it straight on his face. He said that Malik tried to convince him a lot emotionally to express his situation but he didn’t agree to it despite said him that they are going to beat them for sure in that match. He also added that he and Tim May has reported this incident to Captain Mark Taylor and Coach Bob Taylor that also got forwarded to the Match Referee.
