Rohit Big Statement: 'Bumrah, Shami won't be playing forever…Time is near for farewell

India captain Rohit Sharma said star pacers like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are not going to be around forever so it is important to give youngsters a chance so that they can fill their shoes when required.

India has experimented a lot with their limited-overs sides since the beginning of this year. However, since India has essentially won all of their white-ball assignments, it has had no effect on the results of the matches. India’s ability level is evident by the fact that they have two back-up players for almost every position in the starting XI. India captain Rohit Sharma said he and head coach Rahul Dravid have purposefully devised a plan to get backups for the big stars ready for tournaments like the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup.

According to Rohit, famous pacers like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami won’t be around forever, so it’s crucial to give young players a chance so they can step in when needed.

“You need to make an effort to get the other guys ready because Bumrah, (Mohammed) Shami, and all these other players won’t be on the Indian team forever. Rahul bhai and I discussed how to build our bench strength because it will be essential given the volume of cricket we play, the risk of injuries, and other factors “said Rohit.
