Pakistan's star batter Mohammed Rizwan got strain in his right leg

Mohammad Rizwan, the wicket-keeper batsman for Pakistan, will get a preventative MRI scan on Monday after straining his right leg in the team’s five-wicket Asia Cup victory over its arch-rivals.

According to Pakistani media, Rizwan was hurt while trying to catch a delivery from Mohammad Hasnain during India’s opening innings and landed awkwardly on his right leg.

According to reports, the 30-year-old hard-hitting batsman was taken to the hospital shortly after Pakistan defeated India at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday by one run in the final over.

With five wickets in hand, Pakistan was able to defeat India’s 181 after Rizwan entered the field to open the innings and produced a match-winning 71 off 51 deliveries.

Rizwan and the third wicket partner shared a game-defining 73-run stand to help Pakistan avenge their defeat to India during the group league stage.

The absence of pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Wasim, and Shahnawaz Dahani from the competition indicates Pakistan’s ongoing fitness problems.
