Latif says team India players don’t follow Tendulkar anymore

On Wednesday, Team India defeated Hong Kong by a score of 40 runs to advance to the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2022. India scored a respectable total of 192/2 and held Hong Kong to 152/5 to secure their second victory in Group A and a direct qualification. The Super Four will consist of one team from Pakistan and Hong Kong, and that team will face Rohit Sharma’s group on Sunday of this week in the opening game of the second round. The former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif had an unusual comment to make about the batter, as well as some of the other Indian middle-order hitters, including Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, and Deepak Hooda, after Suryakumar’s stunning knock.

“The match has altered. Players once looked up to Tendulkar, Sehwag, and even Virat Kohli. They’d want to beat their previous records. Three to four players on this team, however, do not adhere to their breed. Yes, there is respect, but MS Dhoni is followed. After India’s victory, Latif stated on his official YouTube channel that players like Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and even Deepak Hooda play like him.

After India’s victory, Latif made a note on his official YouTube account.

Suryakumar, according to Latif, is a versatile player who can play in any position, and Dhoni has this quality.

“Players now look to MS Dhoni as an inspiration instead of Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar. The top three players may not be at their best, but the next three are really shooting down the order, according to the way he used to play and approach the game. Suryakumar Yadav doesn’t have the chance to compete at No. 3, but he can perform at any position, according to the former Pakistani star.
