Kohli requests BCCI for break in January

India Test skipper Virat Kohli is most likely to miss the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa. Today Kohli has requested the Board of control for Cricket to grant him a break in January for some personal family reasons. He also added that he want to spend some time with his family. To be more precise we have an interesting factor to be noted is Kohli and Anushka’s daughter Vamika is going to turn her age into one on January 11, 2022. Most rumors are going that this may be the actual reason for his break. The decision of the Board of control for Cricket is still pending.

Also, lately few things came to light. The BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said that he spoke to Virat Kohli and requested him personally not to step as the T20I skipper. But he added that Kohli did not agree to it and as BCCI has no other option has asked him to step down also the chairman of selectors has also spoken to him. They added they have full faith in Rohit Sharma’s leadership abilities, and Virat will continue as the Test captain. Also, BCCI is confident that Indian cricket is in good hands. They thanked Virat Kohli for his contributions as captain in the white-ball format,” the BCCI president added. They also said that having different captains for White ball cricket won’t look nice so they have taken this call. So Kohli fans may miss him in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa.
