Kohli questioned Suryakumar about his six-sixes goal in last over of india-pakistan match

Team India defeated Hong Kong by a score of 40 runs in their second and final group-stage match to clinch a spot in the Super Four round of the 2022 Asia Cup. India’s Suryakumar Yadav was the match’s standout, scoring an unbeaten 68 off just 24 deliveries to lead his team to a substantial total of 192/2 in just 20 overs. Hong Kong put up a valiant effort in the chase but ultimately came up short, closing their innings on 152/5.

Suryakumar had a spectacular start in the final over of the Indian inning, hitting the spinner Haroon Arshad for three sixes off his first three deliveries. The situation was ideal for the Indian batsman, age 31, to repeat Yuvraj Singh’s historic achievement from 15 years prior, when he became the first T20I player to hit six sixes in a single innings against England’s Stuart Broad in a T20 World Cup game.

But on the fourth ball, Arshad’s short-pitched delivery finally got the better of Suryakumar, who eventually struck 26 off the over. The Indian player and Virat Kohli talked about their respective batting performances in the game while sitting together after the game. As the topic of the final over gradually came up, Kohli questioned Suryakumar about his six-sixes goal for that over.

“I gave it my all. However, let’s not move past Yuvi paa,” Suryakumar added before giggling, to which Kohli also contributed.

Then, Kohli called Yuvraj’s achievement “amazing.”

“Especially against Broad, that was a fantastic over. That was incredible,” said Kohli.
