IRE VS ZIM MATCH & ANALYSIS

Zimbabwe won the opening ODI of the series and seemed more at ease in the longer format of the game than Ireland. Whether it is able to repeat the same in this second match remains to be seen. The bookmakers seem to think that Ireland is going to stage a strong comeback and we will examine whether it makes sense or not from a betting perspective.

Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Ireland vs Zimbabwe 2nd ODI 2021. The match is going to be played at the Civil Service Cricket Club, Belfast on the 10th of September 2021.

IRE VS ZIM TEAM PREVIEWS

IRELAND

Ireland was left short of runs in the previous match as a late order collapse saw it relinquish a position of strength in the first match. William Porterfield, Paul Stirling, and Harry Tector played quite well but the others were just not able to get going. We think the Irish batting is not too poor and it should be able to improve its performance in the second match. Andrew Balbirnie did not get any runs in the opening match but he is certainly someone who can score runs quite easily in this next match.

The Irish bowling turned out to be quite poor in the opening match. This is an area that will require a lot of improvement and we think Ireland is certainly capable of doing that. Its bowling has improved a lot in recent times thanks to the emergence of bowlers like Josuha Little, Mark Adair, and Craig Young. With Simi Singh as the lead spinner, Ireland has a pretty decent bowling attack.

Ireland–  William Porterfield (c), Gary Wilson (wk), Paul Stirling, James McCollum, Andrew Balbirnie, Kevin O Brien, Andy McBrine, Mark Adair, Simi Singh, Tim Murtagh, Boyd Rankin

ZIMBABWE

Zimbabwe played very well in the opening match as all of its senior batsmen scored runs and got the team to a defendable total. Brendan Taylor, Sikandar Raza, Craig Ervine, and Sean Williams all were very good in the first match. These four are the core of the Zimbabwe team and better at 50-over cricket than what Ireland throws at them.

We think at least a couple of batsmen from this quartet are going to be able to score some big runs in the next match.

Zimbabwe was helped by having a fit-again Blessing Muzarabani in the previous match, He bowled with fire and picked up four wickets to run through the Ireland batting lineup. With a number of quality all-rounders and some pretty decent spinners, Zimbabwe certainly has the bowling to be able to challenge Ireland once more.

IRE VS ZIM TOSS PREDICTION

The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. That was what turned out to be the successful choice in the first match and what we think is likely going to happen in the second.

PITCH AND CONDITIONS

The conditions in Belfast are expected to be quite good for cricket on match day. There is not too much rain expected although there are expected to be some overcast conditions. The pitch is going to be flat and good for batting. The bowlers are going to have to work hard and rely on their change of pace for wickets.
