Deepak Hooda has achieved a new feat with his vital match-winning knock against Zimbabwe. It is not just another unique record, but a world record. It is to be noted that ever since his international debut, India have gone on to win every match that he has played and as of now, the Men in Blue have registered 16 consecutive wins across formats whenever the Rohtak cricketer has been in the playing XI.
Earlier the same record was held by Romania’s Satwik Nadigotla alone. Who had won all 15 of his first international matches. Hooda broke this record in the second match against Zimbabwe and created history. After Hooda and Nadigotla, South Africa’s David Miller occupies the number three spot. Since he had won 13 consecutive international matches for his national team after his debut.
Over the last couple of months, batting all-rounder Deepak Hooda has been a valuable asset for Team India in white-ball cricket due to his consistent performances. He once again came to the Men in Blue’s rescue with a handy 25 in the second One Day International against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club on Saturday, August 20. The win helped India in taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
India went to take an unassaible 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe and Hooda’s 36-ball 25 helped India get out of troubled waters after being reduced to 97 for 4 in chase of 161.
