West Indies pacer Obed McCoy bowled a memorable spell against Team India in the 2nd T20I between India and West Indies as he returned with figures of 6/17 in 4 overs which also included a maiden. McCoy’s spell sent the visitors on backfoot as the Men in Maroon won the contest by 5 wickets to level series 1-1.After the match, the speedster dedicated his Man of the Match award to his mother – who is not keeping well.
The pacer was adjudged Player of the Match for his remarkable performance with the ball in hand against India.
The left-arm pacer dedicated his six-wicket haul to his sick mother and said that he is trying to be a better cricketer with each opportunity at the highest level.
“I want to thank God. I’m doing this for my mom, she is home sick. This is motivating me to be a better player. Thankful for it,” McCoy was quoted as saying at the post-match presentation ceremony.
McCoy, who opened the bowling for West Indies, got the hosts off to a brilliant start by removing Indian captain Rohit Sharma for a first-ball duck. His first over was also a maiden and he said it put Team India under pressure.
