WHY DID THE ECB CANCEL THE 5TH TEST?

Over The Months

It has been almost two months since India laid their camp here in England. The five match test series set sailed in a full swing with allowance of crowd and appropriates SOPs were mentioned. This series until now was indeed a roller coaster, since International matches are played after almost one year since the Covid started. Looking at the progress of the series, we find India holding the upper hand with a lead of 2-1. Both the teams have exhibited some tremendous talent and dedication towards this fiery series, starting from Lords. Read the article to find out the latest updates of the ongoing series.

Fifth Test – Cancelled?

The latest news from the ECB board states the cancellation of the final and the decider match of this series, which is quite disappointing to almost all the cricket fans in both India as well as England. The fifth test match at Manchester which was scheduled to take place today was cancelled by both the cricket boards before two hours of the commencement of the game. The reason stated by them cleared many misconceptions and rumors spread all around the world.

The BCCI and ECB held several rounds of discussion to find a way to play the Test Match, however, the outbreak of Covid-19 in the Indian team contingent forced the decision of calling off the Old Trafford Test Match. In lieu of the strong relationship between BCCI and ECB, the BCCI has offered to ECB a rescheduling of the cancelled Test match. Both the Boards will work towards finding a window to reschedule this Test match.”

The Indian team is now unable to find a suitable team for this last game due to the spread of Covid within the camp in a large scale. India suffered a setback when three men in their camp tested positive during the fourth test which also included the coach Mr. Ravi Shastri. Thanks to the healthy relationship shared between the BCCI and the ECB board. We hope to see the men in blue seal a win even in the final test which will be held shortly, based on the quick recovery of the liabilities.
