3 players who can lead Ahmedabad Franchise.

Ahmedabad and Lucknow will join the other eight other teams in the league to make it a 10-team tournament from IPL 2022. The Sanjeev Goenka Group has acquired Lucknow as their home base for INR 7090 crores. The owners of CVC Capitals have bid Ahmedabad for INR 5166 crores.

The CVC Capitals owners of Ahmedabad franchise are an international investment firm, having made the second-highest bid among all the bidders. The owners have not yet revealed the name of the team as Twitter is taking an interest in making the predictions.

Let’s take a look at three players who can lead the Ahmedabad team in IPL 2022.

1) David Warner

Sunrisers Hyderabad did not give Warner a place in the XI in the last few matches in the UAE leg making it very clear that they wanted to moved ahead from him keeping the future in mind.

Warner form was also not that good heading into the second half of the season and it did not get better during the UAE leg as well. However with Warner’s days at SRH almost over, it gives the Ahmedabad franchise an opportunity to rope him in and make him the leader of a brand new team with new players in the squad.

Warner is the second-highest run-getter in the IPL with 5449 runs to his name at an average of 41.59 and a strike rate touching 140. He also has four IPL tons and 50 fifties to his credit.

2) Aaron Finch

The Australian T20I skipper is another option that the Ahmedabad-based franchise can look forward to. Finch has played for many teams in the past but has failed to hold onto to his place in all the teams. He was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore for the IPL 2020 before was released ahead of the 2021 season.

His leadership skills and vast experience of playing in the IPL is what the franchise can make use of and possibly win their first title in their debut season.

3) KL Rahul

According to the reports circling across the media, KL Rahul has expressed his desire to leave Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2022. Since joining the franchise in 2018, he has top-scored for the franchise in every season. Overall, he has scored 2548 runs for Punjab in 55 games for the franchise.

Now with him expressing his desire to move ahead, he certainly can be on the radar for the Ahmedabad franchise who can build their team around the Karnataka batsman. He is also seen as one of the potential captaincy candidates for Indian cricket in the future. This adds value to him as a cricketer and to his leadership skills as well.
